Warming centers

To search the database for shelters:
1. Click "Find help" above and enter your ZIP code or city.
2. Click the "search by keyword" tab and enter the words "bad weather."
3. Choose "Bad Weather Shelters." The list will provide warming shelters that serve the ZIP code or city you entered.
4. For details, click the blue words next to "more info;" to view a map, click the blue words "view map."

2-1-1 can find ways for you to help, too. Call 2-1-1 to find volunteer opportunities to fit your skills and passions.

Turn to United Way 2-1-1 for information on volunteer centers; mentorship opportunities; locations to donate food, clothing, furniture, computers and other items; or one-time, long-term, permanent, part-time or group volunteering opportunities

2-1-1 gives you three ways to find volunteer opportunities.

1. Look up agencies and programs in our 2-1-1 database.

2. Call 2-1-1, or if 2-1-1 is not yet active with your phone provider, you can reach the 2-1-1 call center by dialing (800) 427-4626.

3. Check with your area United Way for volunteer opportunities.
